8/16/2023 0 Comments Traxxas e revo 1 16 partsThose are just general motor size descriptions of common motor sizes. Now, notice, those three sizes I just mentioned are not described with four digits, like "4072". The torque-ier 550-size are usually used in the 1/10 4wd trucks due to the extra torque. A 540 can is sort of the "standard size" can for most 1/10 scale cars and trucks. A 550-size would be WAY too much for the MERV, and probably not physically fit. For a 1/16 4wd car, I would say that a 370-size motor would be fine, a 540-size at most. You are right about motor sizes, the number usually describes the motor can size in millimeters. There are probably some conversion charts out there to equate Turns to KV. Brushed motors are still rated in "Turns", especially ones used by the trail and scale guys. OK, to your questions: I don't know where this came from, as I too am used to "KV" meaning "Kilo-Volt", but in RC it means "Revolutions per Volt". Brushless motors and LiPo batteries have essentially achieved parity with Nitro as far as power. Yeah, electric RC has come a LONG way since the days of NiCd/NiMh and rotor lathes. Roy! Welcome dude! Glad to hear someone getting back into the hobby. WIll appreciate your help guys, thanks alot! I remember that alloy suspension arms were bending and plastics were preferred, is it still true today?ītw, I own a 3D printer, will printing spur gears an such parts in PLA/ABS work? will it be strong enough? Is it smart to have a metal spur gear? I remember that it was a danger to the gearbox, will it wear down the gearbox faster? What parts other than a motor, ESC, ESC programmer, remote + receiver, wheels and tires, servo, pinion gear do I need?Īlso, what are the parts that you think I will most likely need to have on hand? I remember that spur gears and suspension arms were being replaced frequently.anything else? If I buy a roller like this: Traxxas 1/16 4WD E-Revo Blue Complete Rolling Chassis Roller Brushle 71054 54 | eBay I'm on a budget and will buy my ESC and motor from AliExpress so any suggestions? can, I get a better motor and ESC than stock for less than a $100 (for both)? Will any 120A ESC physically fit in my little E-Revo? I think I will be running 4S, still not sure since I haven't driven one.I like power but with electrics you can have too much too easily and I don't want itįlipping backwards with every feather touch of the throttle.Ībout the ESC, I noticed that a 120A is a common amp number but also notice that many of the motors are rated for about 60A so what is the use of the 120A? for bursts? Like, a 4076 motor has a diameter of 40mm and the length of 76mm? So should I be looking at 2200KV? (what the hell does KV stands for?! because I'm tired of calling it Kilo Volts!)Ībout the size, are they all the same diameter? what about length? does the motor "number" actually hide these measurements inside it? What kind of KV is recommended for a 1/16? I'm a torque kind of guy rather than speed although speed is cool too. Over a decade ago had a nitro revo and now I'm back and it's a new era! so I'm going electric since nitro is done in my opinion.Īnyway, decided to buy a brand new 1/16 E-Revo roller and will put them Big Joe 40 tires just like I had back in the day
